VIQTOR DAVIS in the person of Koko Visser will contribute to "AI Hub Central Netherlands". The hub will act as a single point of contact for organizations and knowledge institutions in the center of the Netherlands that want to work with Artificial Intelligence (AI). The AI hub Central Netherlands fuels one of the largest AI ecosystems in the Netherlands, which consists of knowledge institutions, business communities and public partners from the region.
"With the hub, we will soon be bringing together as much artificial intelligence knowledge as possible. In doing so, we will strengthen companies and the region and further develop the regional AI strategy that is dominated by human-centered AI. Public values and the ethical side of AI do have a central role into this ", says Arjan van den Born, director of ROM Regio Utrecht, the hub's coordinator. With the formation of this hub, consortia will be strengthened, and follow-up will be given to the AINED report "Accelerate, enlarge and connect" and the Action Agenda of the Dutch AI Coalition, one of the pillars of which is the realization of a single national AI network. The hub focuses not only on leading companies and institutions that are working on groundbreaking innovations, but also on those companies and institutions that are orienting themselves in this field.
Solve regional challenges with AI
The AI hub Central Netherlands wants to give a boost to digital innovations in the region and create a platform where companies, governments and knowledge institutions can meet and inspire each other. Special attention is paid to supporting and shaping strong areas of application of AI in the region such as Media and Culture, Healthcare, Mobility, Energy, Construction, Fintech and other (digital) services. One of the focal points is close cooperation between Utrecht knowledge institutions (WO, HBO, TNO, RIVM) and public and private organizations in the field of AI knowledge development and innovation. The hub focuses on accelerating innovation around AI and "data identification". A final spearhead is making the potential of AI visible for the region and realizing meaningful connections with partners outside the region and in Europe.
The AI hub Central Netherlands already consists of ROM Utrecht Region (coordinator), Utrecht University, UMC Utrecht, Utrecht University of Applied Sciences, Utrecht School of the Arts, Nyenrode Business University, Province of Utrecht, Municipality of Utrecht, Municipality of Amersfoort, Municipality of Hilversum and the Economic Board Utrecht. Various leading companies are also participating, ranging from ICT companies such as Capgemini and Conclusion, numerous companies that are active at the Media Park Hilversum, such as VPRO, Mediaperspectives and the PublicSpaces coalition, but also Rabobank, Prorail, NS, VodafoneZiggo, DIKW, VIQTOR DAVIS and Pon have joined.
The hub aims to involve all public and private organizations in central Netherlands, including many startups and scale-ups in this field.
